Kathmandu – Pakistan T20 captain Sahibzada Farhan will represent Karnali Yaks in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2026.
Karnali Yaks officially announced his signing on Thursday. Welcoming the Pakistani batter on social media, the franchise described him as the leading run-scorer of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Farhan made a significant impact on the international cricket stage with his outstanding performance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, held in India and Sri Lanka. He scored 383 runs in six matches, including two centuries.
His tally of 383 runs is the highest number of runs scored by any batter in a single edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup.
The 30-year-old right-handed batter has represented Pakistan in both One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals. In 51 T20I matches, he has scored 1,554 runs, including two centuries and 13 half-centuries.
Across 186 T20 matches, Farhan has accumulated 5,775 runs, including nine centuries and 38 half-centuries.
He has previously featured in several major franchise leagues, including the Lanka Premier League (LPL), Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The NPL will be his fourth overseas franchise league.
Karnali Yaks have already signed Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat and Bangladesh cricketers Akbar Ali and Ariful Islam for the upcoming season.
The third edition of the NPL is scheduled to begin on October 26 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
