Kathmandu – In the final match of the ICC World Cup League 2 series, Nepal has set a target of 257 runs for Oman.
After winning the toss at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Nepal’s captain Rohit Paudel decided to bat first. Nepal scored 256 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their full quota of overs.
For Nepal, Aasif Sheikh contributed 94 runs. Arjun Kumal scored 48, Aarif Sheikh 43, Dipendra Singh Airee 33, Gulshan Jha 17, while captain Paudel made 9 runs and Binod Bhandari was dismissed for zero.
In the ongoing series, Nepal has won both matches against the UAE but lost the first match against Oman. Similarly, Oman lost both matches against the UAE but defeated Nepal in their first encounter.
In League 2, Nepal is in seventh place with 16 points from 23 matches, while Oman is in third place with 31 points from 27 matches.
So far, Nepal and Oman have faced each other 8 times in One Day Internationals. Oman has won 5 matches, while Nepal has won 3.
Nepal is aiming to secure a win today and take revenge against Oman.
