Kathmandu Secures Comfortable Victory as Chitwan Are All Out in 17.1 Overs

Kathmandu – Kathmandu Gorkhas have claimed a victory over Chitwan Rhinos in the ongoing second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament.

 

At the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu—sent in to bat after losing the toss—were bowled out for 142 runs in 19.3 overs.

 

Chasing a target of 143 runs, Chitwan were dismissed for only 89 runs in 17.1 overs.

 

For Chitwan, Ravi Bopara and Dev Khanal scored 21 each, Sohail Tanvir made 18, Kamal Singh Airee 9, Kushal Malla 6, Dawid Malan 7, Arjun Saud 2, Saif Zaib 1, and Dipak Bohora was out for zero.

 

For Kathmandu, Karan KC, Milind Kumar, Sahab Alam, and Sid Khan took two wickets each, while Santosh Yadav claimed one wicket.

 

For Kathmandu’s batting, John Simpson top-scored with 60 runs. Milind Kumar added 38 and Ben Charlesworth 13. The rest failed to reach double figures: Adil Alam scored 8, Rashid Khan and Dipesh Kandel 6 each, Akash Tripathi 4, Karan KC 1, and Gerard Erasmus and Santosh Yadav were out for zero.

 

For Chitwan, Sohail Tanvir took four wickets, Ranjit Kumar and Kamalsingh Airee grabbed two wickets each, and Ravi Bopara took one.

 

Similarly, Karnali and Biratnagar will face each other in today’s second match.
