Kathmandu – India secured a comfortable victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup cricket tournament, winning by 7 wickets in a match played last night in Dubai.
Chasing a target of 128 runs set by Pakistan, India reached the total in 15.5 overs, losing just three wickets in the process. Captain Suryakumar Yadav led the way with an unbeaten 47 runs, while Tilak Varma and Abhishek Sharma contributed 31 runs each. Shubman Gill and Shivam Dube added 10 runs apiece.
On the bowling side, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub picked up all three Indian wickets.
Earlier, Pakistan had won the toss and opted to bat first. They posted a total of 127 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer with 40 runs, followed by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who remained unbeaten on 33. Fakhar Zaman scored 17 runs, and Faheem Ashraf added 11.
For India, Kuldeep Yadav took the most wickets, claiming 3, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took 2 wickets each.
This win marks India’s second consecutive victory in the tournament. Meanwhile, Pakistan has recorded one win and one loss in their two matches so far. In today’s fixtures, hosts UAE will face Oman, and Sri Lanka will take on Hong Kong.
