Chasing 352 runs, the West Indies completed their highest-ever successful run chase in ODI cricket. It was also the third-highest target successfully chased against India in ODI history.
Hope played a sensational unbeaten innings of 162 runs, registering the highest individual score by a West Indies batter while chasing in ODI cricket. His knock was also the highest individual score while chasing against India in ODI history.
Before Hope, Chris Gayle had scored 162 against England in 2019, while Tillakaratne Dilshan held the record against India with 160 in 2009.
Hope’s remarkable innings powered the West Indies to a memorable five-wicket victory over India.
