Kathmandu – Texas Super Kings (TSK) delivered an all-round performance to comfortably defeat Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), moving up to second place on the points table as the league stage of the tournament reached its halfway point. This was Texas’s fourth win in six matches, while LAKR suffered their fourth loss in five games.
After LAKR won the toss and chose to bowl, TSK posted a massive total of 196 runs.
LAKR’s openers couldn’t settle in before Akeal Hosein struck twice in two deliveries. He bowled Nitish Kumar with a brilliant arm ball. LAKR managed just 39 for 2 at the end of the powerplay.
Sherfane Rutherford scored 15 runs off 13 balls before being bowled by Noor Ahmad.
The Jamaican duo of Rovman Powell and Andre Russell also failed to make an impact. Powell hit the team’s first six in the 15th over, but soon after, Russell was bowled by a brilliant googly from Noor. LAKR needed 95 runs off the final 27 balls, but they never came close.
