Nepal Defeated Indonesia by 9 Wickets, Secured 3rd Place

Nepal Women U19 continued their impressive win in the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026 by defeating Indonesia Women U19 by 9 wickets. In the match played on Saturday for third place of the tournament at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Nepal produced an outstanding all-round performance with both bat and ball to register a comfortable victory.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Indonesia Women U19 failed to withstand the disciplined attack of the Nepalese bowlers. Indonesia managed only 68 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Derni Rambu Bangi was the top scorer for Indonesia with an unbeaten 34 runs. She struck 4 fours in her 32 balls innings to help her side reach a respectable total. Wicketkeeper Ni Putu Elyn Novita Dewi scored 11 runs, while Putu Sintha Cahayani contributed 7. None of the other batters managed to reach double figures.

Nepal’s bowlers applied pressure from the very beginning. Manisha Upadhayay was particularly outstanding, claiming 4 wickets for just 7 runs in her 4 overs spell. Her brilliant bowling completely dismantled Indonesia’s top order. For her exceptional performance, Manisha Upadhayay was named the Player of the Match.

Another bowler, Anu Kadayat, also delivered an impressive spell, taking 2 wickets for 13 runs in 4 overs. Rachana Kumari Chaudhary, Tirsana Bishwokarma, and captain Sony Pakhrin claimed one wicket each, preventing Indonesia from posting a competitive total. Riya Sharma bowled economically, conceding only 13 runs in her four overs, although she did not take a wicket.

Chasing a modest target of 69 runs, Nepal reached 69/1 in 14.2 overs. Sana Praveen remained unbeaten on 25, playing a composed innings that included 2 fours off 39 balls. Sabitri Dhami provided an aggressive start, scoring 24 runs from 23 balls with 4 boundaries before being run out. The pair added 33 runs for the opening wicket.

After Sabitri’s dismissal, Karuna Bista joined Sana Praveen and shared an unbeaten 36-run partnership to guide Nepal to a comfortable victory. Karuna remained unbeaten on 16 from 24 balls.

In the third-place playoff of the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup, Nepal eventually registered a comfortable 9-wicket victory over Indonesia.
