Kathmandu – In the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament, Nepal faced a 17-run defeat against Afghanistan on Friday.
Chasing a target of 113 runs, Nepal managed to score 95 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 6 overs. For Nepal, Sandeep Jora top-scored with 53 runs, while Rashid Khan and Adil Alam both contributed 11 runs each.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Afghanistan scored 112 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 6 overs. Nepal’s bowler Rashid Khan achieved a hat-trick in the fifth over and took a total of 4 wickets, while Lokesh Bam claimed one wicket.
For Afghanistan, Karim Janat top-scored with 35 runs, Farmullah Safi made 30 runs, and captain Gulbadin Naib added 22 runs.
Nepal is scheduled to play its next match against South Africa tomorrow morning at 6 a.m.
