Kathmandu – Nepal were defeated by Bangladesh in today’s match of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup Cricket Tournament. Bangladesh beat Nepal by seven wickets.
At The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, UAE, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Nepal were bowled out for 130 runs in 31.1 overs in the allotted 50-over match. Chasing a target of 131 runs, Bangladesh reached the target comfortably, scoring 131 runs for the loss of three wickets in 24.5 overs.
For Bangladesh, Jawad Abrar played a match-winning innings, remaining unbeaten on 70 runs off 68 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. Kalam Siddiqui contributed 34 runs off 66 balls.
In bowling for Nepal, Abhishek Tiwari and Yuvraj Khatri claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Nepal’s batting struggled as they lost all their wickets for 130 runs in 31.1 overs. Abhishek Tiwari was the top scorer for Nepal with 30 runs, while Ashish Luhar scored 23 runs and Sahil Patel added 18 runs.
For Bangladesh, Md. Sobuj took three wickets, while Saad Islam, Azizul Hakim, and Shahriar Ahmed picked up two wickets each.
Nepal had earlier suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Test-playing nation Sri Lanka on Mangsir 27 in their opening match of the tournament.
