Chasing a formidable target of 213, Sri Lanka fell just short, finishing at 207 for 6 in 20 overs. Needing 19 runs in the final over, the co-host managed only 14, handing Pakistan a crucial two points in Group 2.

Pakistan’s innings was anchored by a scintillating century from opener Sahibzada Farhan, who struck 100 off 60 balls.
