Kathmandu — Nepal has announced its women’s national cricket team for the ICC Women’s T20 Global Qualifier, scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from January 12 to February 1, 2026, as per the International Cricket Council (ICC) calendar.
According to a press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), a 15-member squad has been selected for the tournament.
Indu Barma has been appointed as the team captain, while Pooja Mahato will serve as vice-captain.
The announced squad includes Indu Barma (captain), Pooja Mahato (vice-captain), Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar, Bindu Rawal, Kabita Joshi, Samjhana Khadka, Kajal Shrestha, Rachana Chaudhary, Riya Sharma, Kabita Kunwar, Suman Bista, Rajmati Airee, Roma Thapa, and Manisha Upadhyay.
The ICC Women’s T20 Global Qualifier will be the first major international women’s cricket tournament to be hosted in Kathmandu. The tournament will determine the teams that qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
