Nepal Secures Back-to-Back Wins in Top End T20 Series

Kathmandu – Nepal has registered its second consecutive victory in the ongoing Top End T20 Series in Australia’s Northern Territory. In their fifth match on Wednesday, Nepal defeated the Melbourne Renegades Academy by 33 runs.

Chasing a target of 140 runs set by Nepal, the Renegades were bowled out for 106 runs in 20 overs. Arjun Nair was the top scorer for the Renegades with 26 runs, while J Lemire added 18, and Hyree Dixon contributed 16 runs.

For Nepal, Sompal Kami was the standout bowler, claiming 5 wickets. Kushal Bhurtel took 2 wickets, while Rupesh Singh, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Shahab Alam picked up 1 wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Nepal scored 139 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Kushal Malla top-scored with 29 runs off 22 balls, including one four and one six. Acting captain Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 27 runs off 28 balls, while Lokesh Bam made 24 runs off 16 balls. Bhimal Sarki scored 17, and Aarif Sheikh and Rupesh Singh added 12 runs each.

After losing their first three matches in the tournament, Nepal has now recorded two consecutive wins. With this result, Nepal has 4 points from 5 matches and has moved up to seventh place in the standings.
