Kathmandu – Nepal secured its first win in the ongoing Top End T20 Series in Australia’s Northern Territory. In their fourth match, Nepal defeated the Hobart Hurricanes by a convincing margin of 66 runs.
Chasing a target of 181 runs set by Nepal, Hobart Hurricanes were bowled out for just 114 runs in 16.1 overs. Nepal’s victory was spearheaded by Nandan Yadav, who took 5 wickets for 17 runs in 3 overs. Captain Rohit Paudel, Kushal Bhurtel, Rijhan Dhakal, and Sandeep Lamichhane each claimed one wicket.
Earlier, Nepal had won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 180 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
After losing their first three matches in the tournament, this marks Nepal’s first win. The team will next face Melbourne Renegades tomorrow and Pakistan Shaheens on Friday.
