Kathmandu- Thanks to Shahab Alam’s sharp bowling, Kathmandu Gorkhas defeated Pokhara Avengers by 13 runs. Chasing Kathmandu’s target of 166 runs, Pokhara were bowled out for 152.
Though Rishi Dhami top-scored for Pokhara with 54 runs, it was not enough for victory. Adam Rossington scored 5, Jason Roy 16, Trit Raj Das 9, Kushal Bhurtel 22, Dhananjaya Lakshan 30, and Kiran Thagunna was out for 5.
For Kathmandu, Alam took 6 wickets, while captain Karan KC and Sunny Patel took two wickets each.
Batting first after losing the toss, Kathmandu scored 165 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Ben Charles top-scored with 64 runs, and Bhim Sharki made an important 55 off 23 balls.
Milind Kumar scored 13, Jon Simpson 2, Mohammad Adil Ansari and Rashid Khan made 7 each, while Karan KC was out for 4. Aakash Tripathi returned to the pavilion without scoring.
For Pokhara, Dhananjaya Lakshan took four wickets, Kushal Bhurtel took two, and Bipin Khatri and Kiran Thagunna took one wicket each. Earlier, with only four points from five matches, Pokhara were under pressure to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
