Parsa –In Wednesday’s match of the Prime Minister Cup One-Day National Cricket Tournament, Madhesh Province defeated Gandaki Province.
The match, held at Narayani Stadium in Birgunj, saw Madhesh win by 18 runs based on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
Batting first, Madhesh Province scored 172 runs in 34.5 overs, losing all their wickets. For Madhesh, Mayan Yadav scored 43 runs, while Bishal Susling contributed 40 runs. On the bowling side for Gandaki, Aparajit Paudel and Subas Bhandari took three wickets each.
In reply, Gandaki Province managed 80 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 22 overs. However, rain interrupted play during their innings, and the result was decided using the DLS method. For Gandaki, Arjun Kumal scored 49 runs, while Dipak Dumre added 13 runs.
For Madhesh, Bishal Patel and Mohammad Adil Alam took one wicket each. Bishal Susling of Madhesh was named Player of the Match and received a cash prize of NPR 5,000.
The tournament features a total of 10 teams, including three departmental sides—Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, and Nepal APF Club—along with seven provincial teams.
The tournament winner will receive NPR 1 million, while the runner-up will get NPR 500,000.
