South Africa Suffers Humiliating Defeat Against England in ODI

Kathmandu – South Africa has suffered one of the most humiliating defeats in its ODI (One Day International) cricket history.

Although South Africa won the three-match series 2–1 during their tour of England, they endured a crushing 342-run defeat in the final match.

In the series-deciding game held in Southampton, England lost the toss and was sent to bat first. The home team capitalized fully, scoring 414 runs for the loss of just 5 wickets in their full quota of 50 overs. Jacob Bethell and Joe Root scored centuries, while Jamie Smith and Jos Buttler contributed half-centuries.

For South Africa, Corbin Bosch and Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets each.

Chasing a massive target of 415, South Africa’s batting collapsed completely. They were all out for just 72 runs in 20.5 overs. Eight of their batters failed to reach double figures, with Corbin Bosch top-scoring with just 20 runs.

For England, Jofra Archer took 4 wickets, Adil Rashid claimed 3, and Brydon Carse took 2 wickets.

With this, South Africa registered the biggest loss in its 52-year ODI history, while England achieved its largest-ever win in ODIs.
