Nepal ‘A’ Defeats Oman by 115 Runs

Kathmandu – Nepal ‘A’ cricket team secured a convincing victory over Oman in the second practice one-day match today, thanks to a strong all-round team performance in both batting and bowling.

In the match held at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground, Nepal ‘A’ won by 115 runs. Oman had won the first match.

Chasing a target of 285 runs, Oman was bowled out for 169 runs in 36.3 overs. Mujibur Ali was the top scorer with 43 runs, while Jiten Ramanandi added 24 and Vinayak Shukla scored 21.

For Nepal ‘A’, Yuvraj Khatri took 3 wickets, conceding 16 runs in 6 overs. Hemant Dhami, Aakash Chand, and Sher Malla took 2 wickets each, while Santosh Yadav claimed 1 wicket.

Oman had won the toss and chose to field first. Nepal ‘A’ posted a total of 284 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs.

Three players—Ishan Pandey, Dev Khanal, and Kushal Malla—scored half-centuries, helping Nepal ‘A’ set a strong total. Ishan scored 69, Dev made 62, and Kushal Malla added 57 runs. Ishan and Dev also shared a 90-run partnership for the third wicket. Sandeep Jora contributed 42 runs, while Santosh Yadav remained not out on 15 and Arjun Kumal scored 13.

For Oman, Jiten Ramanandi took 2 wickets, while Shakeel Ahmed, Nadeem Khan, Siddharth Bukkapatnam, and Wasim Ali took one wicket each.

The match was played as preparation for the ICC World Cup League 2. The triangular series involving Nepal, UAE, and Oman will begin this Saturday at the TU Cricket Ground, with Nepal facing the UAE in the opening match.
