Nepal Defeats Malaysia in Practice Match

Kathmandu – The Nepali Women’s National Cricket Team defeated hosts Malaysia in the first T20 International practice match today.

In the match played at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia, Nepal secured a two-wicket victory over Malaysia. Chasing a target of 68 runs, Nepal reached the total in 17.3 overs, losing eight wickets in the process.

For Nepal, Samjhana Khadka was the top scorer with 32 runs off 39 balls, including two fours. Rubi Poddar contributed 15 runs, while Kabita Joshi added six runs.

For Malaysia, Nur Kalisa claimed three wickets, while Aisya Elisa and Elsa Hunter took two wickets each.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Malaysia were bowled out for 67 runs in 16.5 overs. Elsa Hunter top-scored for Malaysia with 10 runs. Captain Mas Elisa made eight runs, while Mahirah Izzati and Erdina Beh scored seven runs each.

For Nepal, Puja Mahato took three wickets, while Riya Sharma and Manisha Upadhyay picked up two wickets each. Kabita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar claimed one wicket apiece.

The Nepali team is currently in Malaysia to participate in the Asian Qualifiers and the ACC Premier Cup. Nepal and Malaysia will play their second practice match on May 21.
