Nepal Women’s Cricket Team Leaves for Rwanda Tournament

Kathmandu – The Nepal women’s cricket team has left for Rwanda to compete in the ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy, which begins on April 18. The team was bid farewell by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), which expressed confidence in the players and wished them success in the tournament.

The competition will be held from April 18 to May 1 (Baisakh 5–18) and will feature five teams: host Rwanda, Nepal, the United States, Vanuatu, and Italy. The tournament will be played in a double round-robin format, with the team finishing at the top of the standings declared the winner.

Nepal will start its campaign against the United States on April 18. It will then face Italy on April 19, Rwanda on April 22, and Vanuatu on April 24. In the return fixtures, Nepal will play the United States again on April 26, Rwanda on April 28, Vanuatu on April 30, and conclude its league matches against Italy on May 1.

The team is captained by Indu Barma, with Puja Mahato serving as vice-captain. Other members of the squad include Rubi Poddar, Roma Thapa, Bindu Rawal, Rubina Chhetry, Kabita Joshi, Kabita Kunwar, Samjhana Khadka, Anu Kadayat, Suman Bista, Riya Sharma, Rachana Chaudhary, and Manisha Upadhyay.

According to CAN, the team is coached by Harshal Pathak.
