Kathmandu – Six players from the Nepali national women’s cricket team, including vice-captain Puja Mahato, are set to participate in the NCA Women’s Inter-State T20 Championship in Malaysia.
According to a press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Friday, the six players will represent two different teams in the tournament.
National team vice-captain Puja Mahato, along with former captain Rubina Chhetry and Kabita Kunwar, will play for the Sarawak Cricket Association. Meanwhile, former vice-captain Sita Rana Magar, Kabita Joshi, and Rajmati Airee will represent the Selangor Cricket Association.
The T20 Championship is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur from October 18 to 28.
Following a 3-2 series win against Malaysia in a recent five-match T20I series, the rest of the Nepali team returned home on Thursday night, while the six players stayed back for the upcoming tournament.
Before the series, 14 players from the Nepali women’s squad had also participated in Malaysia’s Super League, playing for different teams.
