Kathmandu – Lumbini Lions have entered the playoffs after defeating Janakpur Bolts by 4 wickets. Chasing Janakpur’s target of 133 runs, Lumbini reached 136 runs in 19.1 overs.
For Lumbini, captain Rohit Paudel top-scored with 34 runs. D’Arcy Short scored 30, JJ Smith 21, Niroshan Dickwella 17, while Sumeet Maharjan and Sandeep Jora were dismissed for zero. Dilip Nath remained unbeaten on 15, and Ruben Trumpelmann on 6.
For Janakpur, Sangeet Kure took three wickets, Mayan Yadav claimed two, and Sanjay Krishnamurthy took one.
Batting first after winning the toss, Janakpur posted 132 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Sangeet Kure top-scored with 45, while Mayan Yadav remained unbeaten on 27. Similarly, Asif Sheikh scored 20, Sanjay Krishnamurthy 14, Shubh Kankasakar 11, Anil Sah 7, and Majh Sadaqat 6. Captain Jean-Nicol Loftie-Eaton was out for a duck.
For Lumbini, Sher Malla and captain Rohit Paudel took two wickets each, while JJ Smith and Ruben Trumpelmann claimed one wicket apiece.
With Lumbini’s victory, the playoff hopes of Janakpur Bolts, Pokhara Avengers, and Chitwan Rhinos have come to an end. Karnali Yaks had already been eliminated earlier.
