Kathmandu – Cricket Association of Nepal has unveiled Nepal’s 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series featuring Nepal, United States and Scotland.
The national side will be captained by Rohit Paudel, while Dipendra Singh Airee has been named vice-captain.
The biggest talking point of the squad announcement is the return of Ishan Pandey, who has earned a national team recall after seven years. Although Pandey has represented Nepal in T20 Internationals, he is yet to make his ODI debut. His only international appearance came against Zimbabwe in 2019, where he scored four runs off eight balls.
Pandey secured his place in the squad following impressive performances in the Prime Minister Cup. He also impressed while representing Nepal ‘A’ in matches against Scotland and the United States.
The League 2 tri-series is scheduled to take place from May 12 to 22 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.
Nepal head into the series with confidence after winning three of their four matches in the previous League 2 campaign against Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
