Kathmandu – England have announced a 15-member provisional squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, with Harry Brook named as the captain.
Fast bowler Jofra Archer has returned to the squad after missing the Ashes series due to injury. Another fast bowler, Josh Tongue, has also been included.
Experienced players such as Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid and Phil Salt have retained their places in the team.
England have been drawn in the same group as Nepal in the World Cup, which adds special interest for Nepali cricket fans.
England’s provisional squad is as follows:
Harry Brook (captain), Rehan Ahmed, Jofra Archer, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue and Luke Wood.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has stated that changes to the squad may be made before the start of the World Cup if required.
