Baitadi – Dadeldhura has clinched the title of the Sudurpaschim Province-level U-19 Women’s Cricket Tournament. In the final match held today, Dadeldhura defeated Kanchanpur by 5 runs to claim the championship.
With the title, Dadeldhura received a cash prize of NPR 200,000, while runners-up Kanchanpur were awarded NPR 100,000.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first at the Fapla Cricket Ground in Kailali, Dadeldhura were bowled out for 88 runs in 16.5 overs in the 20-over match. In reply, Kanchanpur could only manage 83 runs, losing 9 wickets.
For Dadeldhura, Heera Saud played a crucial unbeaten knock of 24 runs. No other batter from the team managed to reach double figures. Kanchanpur conceded 20 runs in extras. In bowling, Kanchanpur’s Poonam Joshi and Sabitri Dhami took 3 wickets each, while Archana Chand took 2 and Ganga Khadka took 1.
While batting, Archana Chand top-scored for Kanchanpur with 24 runs and Deepa Badu added 13 runs. In Dadeldhura’s bowling department, Manisha Khatri and Heera Saud took 2 wickets each, and Ashika Mahara, Sanju Saud, and Nisha Kathayat claimed 1 wicket apiece.
The winner and runner-up teams were awarded by Lok Bahadur Khadka, Member Secretary of the Sudurpaschim Province Sports Council, among others. Organized by the Province Sports Council, the tournament started on Asar 12 and featured teams from all eight districts of Sudurpaschim Province.
