Australia’s Dominant Win Over West Indies: 5-0 Clean Sweep in T20I Series

Kathmandu – Australia completed a clean sweep over the West Indies in the five-match T20I series, winning the fifth and final match by 3 wickets on Tuesday morning. This marks the first time Australia has won a T20I series 5-0.

Chasing a target of 171 runs set by West Indies, Australia reached the total in 17 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Mitchell Owen scored a quickfire 37 runs off 17 balls, while Cameron Green added 32 from 18 balls and Tim David contributed 30 from just 12 deliveries.

For West Indies, Akeal Hosein was the standout bowler with 3 wickets for just 17 runs in his 4 overs. Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder picked up 2 wickets each.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first, West Indies posted 170 runs before being bowled out in 19.4 overs. Ben Dwarshuis led the Australian bowling attack with 3 wickets, supported by Nathan Ellis with 2 wickets, while Adam Zampa, Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie, and Glenn Maxwell took one wicket each.

Australia had previously won the first four matches by 3 wickets, 8 wickets, 6 wickets, and 3 wickets respectively.

Prior to the T20Is, Australia remained unbeaten in the three-match Test series against the West Indies as well.
