Kathmandu – With the help of captain Sandeep Lamichhane’s lethal bowling, Biratnagar Kings registered a thrilling victory over Janakpur Bolts.
Chasing a target of 136 runs, Janakpur managed to score 126 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
For Janakpur, Jon Nicol Eaton scored the highest with 41 runs. Lahiru Milantha contributed 23, Sanjay Krishnamurthy 20, Aasif Sheikh 13, while Anil Shah and Mayan Yadav made 4 runs each. Sangeet Kure and Aditya Mehta were dismissed for a duck.
For Biratnagar, captain Sandeep Lamichhane delivered an excellent spell, taking 4 wickets in 4 overs while conceding just 11 runs. Surya Tamang took 2 wickets, while Shubham Ranjane and Merchant de Lange claimed one wicket each.
In today’s Nepal Premier League match, Biratnagar, who lost the toss and were sent in to bat, scored 135 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. For Biratnagar, Shubham Ranjane top-scored with 37 runs, while Basir Ahmad contributed 36. Lokesh Bam added 28, George Munsey 10, and Martin Guptill scored 13. Narayana Joshi was dismissed for 2, and Merchant de Lange could not score.
Pratish GC (2 runs) and Sandeep Lamichhane (1 run) remained not out.
To restrict Biratnagar to a low total, Janakpur’s Sangeet Kure and Rupesh Singh took 2 wickets each, while Aditya Mehta claimed one wicket.
