South Africa Legends Secure Third Consecutive Win in World Championship Legends

Kathmandu – Led by a brilliant century from captain AB de Villiers, the South Africa Champions claimed their third straight victory in the ongoing World Championship Legends being held in England.

In a dominant display on Thursday in Leicester, South Africa defeated England Champions by 10 wickets, comfortably chasing down the target of 153 runs in just 12.2 overs without losing a single wicket.

Captain de Villiers remained unbeaten on 116 runs off just 51 balls, smashing 15 fours and 7 sixes in a scintillating innings. Fellow opener Hashim Amla supported him with an unbeaten 29 runs off 25 balls, including 4 boundaries.

Despite using six different bowlers, England failed to take any wickets.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being sent in to bat, England Champions posted 152/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
Opener Phil Mustard top-scored with 39 runs off 33 balls (3 fours, 1 six), while Samit Patel added 24, captain Eoin Morgan made 20, and Moeen Ali was dismissed for 10.

Tim Ambrose (19*) and Liam Plunkett (13*) remained unbeaten at the end.

For South Africa, Wayne Parnell and Imran Tahir took 2 wickets each, while Chris Morris and Duanne Olivier also grabbed 2 wickets apiece.

With three wins from three matches, South Africa sits at the top of the table with 6 points. Meanwhile, England, with just 1 point from 4 matches, is currently in fifth place.

The World Championship Legends features retired international cricket stars and includes six teams competing in a round-robin format. The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, and the final match is scheduled for August 2.
