Kathmandu – Nepal have set Canada a target of 236 runs in their opening match of the ongoing ODI series under the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first at Oman Cricket Academy Turf 1, Nepal were bowled out for 235 runs in 50 overs.
Rohit Paudel was Nepal’s top scorer, smashing 101 runs to register a century. Basir Ahmed contributed 30 runs, while Arjun Kumal scored 23. The other Nepalese batters failed to reach double figures.
For Canada, Akhil Kumar claimed four wickets, while Sukhjinder Singh took three and Zahir Shirzad picked up two wickets.
In the League 2 standings, Nepal sit seventh with 24 points from 32 matches, while Canada are sixth with 25 points from 33 matches.
