Tribhuwan Army Club and Nepal APF Club played out a hard-fought draw in the 6th match of the Jay Trophy Men’s Elite Cup at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Friday. But with this draw Army advance to final of Jay Trophy 2026 edition and will compete on departmental derby with Nepal Police club.

Earlier, Army declared their first innings at 252 for 9 and the second at 268 for 8, setting APF a stiff target of 381 runs. APF Club replied with 140 in the first innings and reached 228 for 7 in the second when stumps, resulting draw at the end.
Trit Raj Das laid a solid foundation for Army with a patient 102 off 159 balls in the first innings. Imran Sheikh chipped in with 71, while Basir Ahamad remained unbeaten on 101 off 119 balls in the second innings. Binod Bhandari, Captain of army contributed a quickfire 63. Yuvraj Khatri was the standout bowler for APF, picking up five wickets for 55 runs in the first innings.
For APF, captain Rohit Paudel top-scored with 48 in the first innings, but the batting lineup struggled against Army’s pace attack led by Sompal Kami, who claimed four wickets in first inning. In the second innings, Lokesh Bam played a fighting knock of 64, while Deepak Bohara and Aasif Sheikh showed resistance. However, Naren Saud’s five-wicket haul (5/79) kept APF under pressure throughout the chase.
Tribhuwan Army Club advanced to the final of second edition of Jay Trophy. The final is scheduled on 1, march, 2026 at Tribhuwan University Cricket Ground on 9:15 AM.
