Nepal Registered 81 Runs Victory Over Jersey, Kushal Scored Century

Nepal produced an outstanding performance to register an impressive 81-run victory over Jersey. After winning the toss and choosing to field first, Jersey’s decision was proved wrong by Nepal’s batters. Nepal Cricket team posted a competitive total of 250/8 in 50 overs. In reply, Jersey was bowled out for 169 in just 41 overs, handing Nepal a comfortable victory.

Opener Kushal Bhurtel was the star of Nepal’s innings. He played a magnificent knock of 105 runs from 117 balls, putting his team in a strong position. As wickets kept falling at the other end, Bhurtel displayed the perfect balance of patience and aggression, making his innings the foundation of Nepal’s victory.

Bhim Sharki contributed 39 runs off 63 balls, sharing an important partnership for the second wicket with Bhurtel. Although Bhim provided excellent support to Kushal, he was unable to convert his start into a bigger innings. In the Lower middle order, Hemanta Dhami remained unbeaten on 19. Nepal Middle order failed agian to perform, Aasif Sheikh scored 16, and captain Rohit Paudel added 15 runs. Nepal maintained control of their innings until the end and successfully posted a respectable total of 250.

Among Jersey’s bowlers, Nick Greenwood was the most successful, claiming 2 wickets for 40 runs from his 10 overs. Daniel Birrell picked up 2 wickets for 38 runs in 7 overs, while Benjamin Ward also claimed 2 wickets, conceding 56 runs in his 10 overs.

Chasing a target of 251, Jersey failed to get the start they were hoping for. Nepal’s bowlers applied constant pressure from the beginning, preventing the Jersey batters from building any significant partnerships. As a result, the hosts were restricted to 169 all out in 41 overs.

For Jersey, Charlie Brennan remained unbeaten on a fighting 82 off 111 balls. Despite battling until the end, he received little support from the rest of the batting lineup. Daniel Birrell contributed 41 runs from 50 balls, while Harrison Carlyon scored 20 off 36 balls. Apart from these three batters, no one else was able to make a notable contribution on board.

Nepal’s bowlers delivered an excellent collective performance. Hemanta Dhami was the standout performer with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 37 runs in his 7 overs. He dismantled Jersey’s innings by picking up crucial wickets at key moments. Aarif Sheikh added further pressure on the opposition by taking 3 wickets while conceding just 9 runs in 5 overs.

Meanwhile, Karan KC claimed 2 wickets for 21 runs from his 6 overs, while Sandeep Lamichhane finished with 1 wicket for 38 runs in his 7 overs spell.
