Kathmadnu- The Nepali national cricket team underwent fitness and physical assessments today as part of their preparations for the upcoming Top End T20 Series in Darwin, Australia. The tournament is set to take place from August 14 to 24.
The tests were conducted at the Sports Science and Research Centre and High Performance Centre in Satdobato early this morning. The full 16-member squad participated in the session, which focused on evaluating the players’ fitness levels ahead of a packed international schedule.
Led by captain Rohit Paudel and vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, the team includes key players such as Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, and Sompal Kami, among others. The squad also features a mix of experienced players and emerging talents.
The Top End T20 Series will host 11 teams, with Nepal scheduled to play six matches in the league stage. The event serves as an important platform for the team to gear up for the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers slated for October.
In addition to the Australian tournament, Nepal is also preparing for a T20I series against the West Indies in September, further emphasizing the team’s busy international calendar and the importance of maintaining peak physical condition.
