Kathmandu – The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced that 150 players have been shortlisted for the mini auction of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), which is set to take place on August 9 (Shrawan 24). This announcement follows the registration of 458 players for the auction, from which the final shortlist has now been released. Among the shortlisted players, the list of Category ‘A’ players has also been made public.
According to CAN, the players included in Grade A are Aadil Ansari, Sharad Vesawkar, Arjun Saud, Dev Khanal, Dilip Nath, Pawan Sarraf, Surya Tamang, and Sunam Gautam. These players, regarded as some of the most experienced and high-profile names in Nepali cricket, are expected to draw significant attention from the NPL franchise teams. The base price for Category A players has been set between NPR 1 million to 1.5 million (10 to 15 lakhs), making them some of the most valuable assets in the upcoming auction.
As the mini auction approaches, there is growing anticipation among fans and franchises alike. The event is considered a vital step in preparing for the second edition of the NPL, which aims to elevate the standard of domestic cricket in Nepal and serve as a platform for both seasoned and emerging talent.
