Karun Nair to Return to Karnataka for 2025–26 Domestic Season

Kathmandu – Indian cricketer Karun Nair is set to return to his home state team Karnataka after three seasons. He had played the last two domestic seasons for Vidarbha, and has now received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Vidarbha to rejoin Karnataka for the 2025–26 season.

Nair has been in excellent form recently, playing a key role in Vidarbha’s Ranji Trophy victory. He scored 863 runs in 16 innings, including four centuries. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he made 779 runs in 8 innings, including five consecutive centuries, and set a new List A record by scoring 542 runs without being dismissed.

Currently touring England with the Indian Test team, Nair hasn’t delivered standout performances so far. However, he returns to a Karnataka squad filled with promising young talent. Players like R Smaran, KL Shrijith, and KV Aneesh impressed in the previous season.

Meanwhile, pacer V Koushik has obtained an NOC from Karnataka and will now represent Goa. He was Karnataka’s top wicket-taker last Ranji season, taking 23 wickets in 7 matches and delivering strong performances.
