Kathmandu – Visiting team Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka in the second T20 International.
In the match held in Dambulla on Sunday, Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 83 runs. With this win, the three-match T20I series is now level at 1-1.
Chasing a target of 178 runs, Sri Lanka was bowled out for just 94 runs in 15.2 overs. Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka scored 32 runs off 29 balls, hitting 2 fours and 1 six. Dasun Shanaka was dismissed for 20 runs off 16 balls.
None of the other Sri Lankan batters managed to reach double figures.
For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain took 3 wickets, Mohammad Saifuddin and Shoriful Islam claimed 2 each, while Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 1 wicket apiece.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being sent to bat first, Bangladesh scored 177 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Liton Das top-scored for Bangladesh with a half-century, scoring 76 runs off 50 balls, including 1 four and 5 sixes. Towhid Hridoy scored 48 runs off 27 balls.
For Sri Lanka, Binura Fernando took 3 wickets, while Nuwan Thushara and Maheesh Theekshana took 1 wicket each.
The third and final match of the series will be held on Wednesday.
