Kathmandu – Sixteen-year-old Raunak Srivastav, who was declared the Player of the Tournament in the ACC U–16 East Zone Cup Cricket Tournament held in Malaysia, received a grand welcome and special honors in his home district of Kapilvastu on Tuesday.
Raunak, who delivered an outstanding performance and brought pride to the nation on the international stage, was honored in special programs held in Taulihawa and Chandrapur. During the event in Chandrapur, he was welcomed with garlands, vermillion (abir), and tokens of love.
Ishwari Pandey, president of the Chandrauta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that Raunak’s international achievement had made all the residents of Kapilvastu proud.
Earlier, Raunak was also honored jointly by various local organizations in Taulihawa. In the presence of local residents, sports enthusiasts, and officials, Raunak said that this achievement had increased his sense of responsibility and expressed his commitment to perform even better in the future.
Highlighting Raunak’s success as a source of inspiration for other athletes, Deepak Khadka emphasized the need to encourage players and promote sports development in the district.
