Raunak Makes History

Kapilvastu  – The ACC U-16 East Zone Cup is proving to be fruitful for Nepal. So far, Nepal has played sensational cricket in all of its matches. In the midst of this, Raunak Srivastava made history by recording the highest individual score ever in Nepal’s youth cricket history.

Raunak, who had already earned a name for his excellent batting in domestic competitions, continued his outstanding form to set this new record.

On Tuesday, in an international youth match against Bhutan, Raunak played a blistering innings, scoring 168 runs. He faced 132 balls and hit 5 sixes and 16 fours to build this massive score.

This is the highest individual score by any Nepali player at any level of international cricket.

Only 15 years and 8 months old, Raunak hails from Madhawa, Ward No. 1 of Krishnanagar Municipality. He broke the record previously held by Arjun Kumal, who had scored 142 runs against Saudi Arabia in the 2023 ACC U-19 Premier Cup.

Earlier, in the third week of Jestha (late May), Raunak had already made headlines by scoring a double century in the domestic TB Shah Memorial U-16 National Cricket Tournament held in Surkhet. Playing against Gandaki Province at the Birendranagar Cricket Ground, he scored 217 runs.

In that innings, he faced 117 balls and smashed 16 fours and 16 sixes to achieve this rare feat. It was the first double century and the highest individual score in Nepal’s domestic youth cricket history.
