ACC U-16 Men’s East Zone: Nepal Sets Record Target of 421 Runs for Indonesia

Kathmandu – Riding on a century by Prasiddha Jaisi, Nepal has set a record target of 421 runs for Indonesia in the ACC U-16 Men’s East Zone Cup.

Playing at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Indonesia won the toss and opted to field first. Taking full advantage, the young Nepali team posted a massive total of 420 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Openers Prasiddha Jaisi and Parimarjan Yadav gave Nepal a brilliant start with a 130-run partnership off 62 balls for the first wicket. Prasiddha scored a team-high 132 runs off 114 balls, including 15 fours and 1 six, before being caught out. Parimarjan contributed a quickfire 71 runs off just 28 balls, smashing 4 fours and 8 sixes, and was also caught out on the last ball of the 10th over.

For the third wicket, Prasiddha Jaisi and Raunak Srivastav put on a partnership of 148 runs from 136 balls, propelling Nepal toward the record total. Raunak scored 88 runs before being dismissed. Jai Thapa added 57 runs, while Shivansh Bajgain fell cheaply for 4. Sugam Budhathoki remained unbeaten on 39, and Roshan Shahi stayed not out on 10.

Indonesia will now begin their chase in reply to Nepal’s massive total.
