Dipendra Singh Airee Resigns from Nepal Police Service

Kathmandu – Nepal national cricket team’s vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee has resigned from his position in the Nepal Police.

According to DIG Binod Ghimire, the central spokesperson of Nepal Police, Dipendra had submitted his resignation a few months ago, and it has already been approved. Dipendra was serving as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI). It has been reported that he resigned citing personal reasons.

Dipendra had been promoted from Police Constable to ASI as a special recognition after setting a world record in T20 cricket during the 19th Asian Games held in China. He had smashed a half-century in just 9 balls against Mongolia, earning him international fame.

He had joined the Nepal Police in 2073 BS (2016 AD) and was promoted in 2080 BS (2023 AD). However, he chose to leave the job less than two years after the promotion.

Dipendra also served as the captain of the Nepal Police Club in domestic cricket.
