Top 10 Highest run scorer Batters for Nepal in ODIs

Since Nepal got the One Day International (ODI) status in 2018, a total of 40 players have represented the national team in ODIs. Among them, 7 players—including Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla—have retired, while the remaining 33 are still striving for a place in the national team. Thirteen players made their ODI debut in Nepal’s inaugural series against the Netherlands in 2018, and the most recent debutant is Hemant Dhami.

10) Gulshan Jha

Primarily a bowling all-rounder, Gulshan Jha holds the 10th spot among Nepal’s top ODI run-scorers. Though he started as a bowler, coach Monty Desai gave him added responsibility as a batter. Since his debut in 2021, Gulshan has scored 514 runs in 22 matches, remaining not out 5 times.

9) Sompal Kami

Another bowling all-rounder, Sompal Kami ranks 9th. Part of the debut group in 2018, he has scored 596 runs in 42 innings, with a top score of 63* and two fifties.

8) Bhim Sharki

Debuting in 2022, Bhim Sharki is 8th on the list with 670 runs from 22 innings in 25 matches.  He has been out for a duck twice.

7) Kushal Malla

Since his debut in 2020, Kushal Malla has scored 716 runs from 32 innings with a strike rate of 96.

6) Gyanendra Malla

Former captain Gyanendra Malla, who retired in 2023, is 6th on the list with 876 runs in his 5-year ODI career. He scored 7 fifties, with a top score of 75 against Namibia. In 37 ODIs, he was not out once and was dismissed for a duck three times.

5) Dipendra Singh Airee

A key all-rounder, Dipendra Singh Airee is 5th with 896 runs in 53 matches. He has hit 1 century and 3 fifties, with a high score of 105 against Papua New Guinea in Kirtipur on March 26, 2022.

4) Aarif Sheikh

A dependable middle-order batter, Aarif Sheikh has scored 964 runs in 43 matches since his debut in 2018.

3) Kushal Bhurtel

An aggressive opener, Kushal Bhurtel ranks 3rd with 1,219 runs in 51 ODIs since debuting in 2021. He has scored 1 century and 8 fifties, with a highest score of 115 against Namibia on Valentine’s Day 2023.

2) Aasif Sheikh

Wicketkeeper and opener Aasif Sheikh is 2nd on the list with 1,401 runs, despite playing 2 fewer matches than Bhurtel.
