Nepal U-16 Cricket Squad Announced for ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup

Kathmandu – The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup, which is set to begin this Sunday in Malaysia.

Bipin Prasad Sharma has been named captain of the squad, while Suryashum Koirala will serve as the vice-captain. The squad was selected based on performances in the T.B. Shah Memorial U-16 National Cricket Tournament, recently held in Surkhet.

A total of 10 teams will participate in the tournament, divided into two groups. Nepal is placed in Group A, alongside Singapore, Indonesia, Bhutan, and Japan. Group B includes hosts Malaysia, Hong Kong, Maldives, Thailand, and Myanmar.

Nepal has been the champion in all three previous editions of the tournament and will begin their title defense against Singapore on Sunday. They will face Japan on Tuesday, Indonesia next Sunday, and will wrap up the group stage against Bhutan.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, and the final will be held on July 5 (Asar 21) between the two semi-final winners.
