Nepal Clinches Two-Wicket Victory Over Scotland in T20I Tri-Series

Kathmandu – Nepal secured a thrilling two-wicket win over Scotland in today’s match of the ongoing Tri-Nation T20 International Series. The match was played at The Grange Cricket Ground in Scotland, where Nepal successfully chased down the target of 98 runs in 19.5 overs with eight wickets down.

Chasing a modest total, opener Kushal Bhurtel played a crucial knock of 30 runs to anchor the innings. Supporting contributions came from Dipendra Singh Airee (14), Basir Ahmad (13), and Kiran Thagunna (10), while the rest of the batters failed to reach double digits.

Scotland’s bowlers put up a tough fight. Michael Leask and Safyaan Sharif picked up two wickets each.

Brandon McMullen, Mark Watt, Jack Jarvis, and Jasper Davidson took one wicket each.

Opting to bat first, Scotland was bowled out for 97 runs in 19.4 overs.

Michael Leask was the top scorer with 46 runs off 46 balls, including 4 boundaries and 1 six. Captain Matthew Cross added 15 runs, while Brandon McMullen contributed 10 runs.

Nepal’s bowlers dominated the Scottish batting lineup. Sandeep Lamichhane starred with 4 wickets, earning him the Player of the Match award. Karan KC and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed 2 wickets each.

Lalit Rajbanshi took 1 wicket.

Milestone for Karan KC

In a significant achievement, Karan KC completed 100 wickets in T20 International cricket, becoming the second Nepali bowler to reach the milestone after Sandeep Lamichhane.

Nepal’s disciplined bowling and a composed chase under pressure helped secure their win, keeping them in strong contention in the tri-nation series.
