Nepal Defeats Singapore by 151 Runs, Near to Quarter-Final

In the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026, Nepal Women U19 defeated Singapore Women U19 by a massive margin of 151 runs in their second Group Stage match.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Nepal posted 199 without loss in 20 overs. For Nepal, Sana Praveen remained unbeaten on 98 off 70 balls, hitting 13 fours in her innings. Fellow opener Sabitri Dhami also remained unbeaten, scoring 78 off 53 balls with 13 fours. Nepal added 23 runs through extras.

None of the Singapore bowlers managed to take a wicket. Ankitha Varsha Raj conceded 34 runs in her 4 overs, while Roma Raval gave away 21 runs in 4 overs. Laasya Amrutha Reddy conceded 39 runs in 3 overs, Zoe Arunima Diwedi Regine gave away 45 runs in 4 overs, Ananyah Ahuja conceded 34 runs in 3 overs, and Anushka Tomar gave away 25 runs in 2 overs. All of the bowlers appeared helpless against Nepal’s opening pair.

Chasing a target of 200, Singapore could only manage 48 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

For Singapore, Ankitha Varsha Raj was the top scorer with 19 runs. Dhwani Prakas scored 8, Laasya Amrutha Reddy made 4, Anushka Tomar scored 4, Pushpa Murali added 1, while Roma Raval remained unbeaten on 1. Jui Rameshwar Surwase, Karthika Chelladurai, and Kavyasri Vijaykumar failed to open their accounts.

Among Nepal’s bowlers, Anu Kadayat was the standout performer in today’s match. She claimed 3 wickets while conceding just 4 runs in her 4 overs. Manisha Upadhayay picked up 2 wickets for 9 runs in 4 overs, while Riya Sharma also took 2 wickets, giving away 10 runs in her 4 overs. Sony Pakhrin claimed 1 wicket for 9 runs in 3 overs. Although wicketless, Rachana Kumari Chaudhary delivered a highly economical spell, conceding only 5 runs in her 4 overs. Tirsana Bishwokarma, who bowled just one over, conceded 6 runs.

Nepal’s Sana Praveen, who remained unbeaten on 98, was named the Player of the Match.

Nepal will play Hong Kong in their final Group D match on 14 July. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. With a significantly superior net run rate compared to the other teams in the group, Nepal’s place in the quarter-finals appears almost certain. Nepal is also in a favorable position to qualify for the quarter-finals even if they suffer a narrow defeat against Hong Kong.
