Nepal U-19 Women registered Splendid Victory, Qatar Defeated by 105 Runs

In their first match of the ACC Women’s U-19 Premier Cup 2026, Nepal has made a splendid start to the tournament by defeating Qatar by a huge margin of 105 runs.

In the match played at Bayumas Cricket Oval, Kuala Lumpur, Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first. Then, Nepal scored 130 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

In Nepal’s innings, Sabitri Dhami played a brilliant half-century, scoring the highest 52 runs off 47 balls with 5 fours. Sana Praveen scored 27 runs off 32 balls with 3 fours, while Anjila Pathak remained unbeaten on 23 runs off 32 balls. Tirsana Bishwakarma remained unbeaten on 5 runs off 10 balls in the match where captain Soni was dismissed without scoring single. Nepal also collected 23 runs from extras.

For Qatar, Lihara Abeysekera bowled excellently, taking 2 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs. Fatima Mukadam also took 1 wicket. The other bowlers were ineffective against Nepal’s batters.

Chasing the target of 131 runs, Qatar could not withstand Nepal’s tight bowling and were all out for just 25 runs in 12 overs. No Qatari batter could score in double figures. Captain Krisheeta Sarvanakumar scored the highest 3 runs, while Qatar collected 12 runs from extras. Qatari batters managed only 13 runs from the bat.

Nepal’s bowlers created pressure from the very beginning and forced Qatar to lose wickets continuously. Riya Sharma took 3 wickets for just 6 runs in 3 overs. Rachana Kumari Chaudhary also took 3 wickets for only 2 runs in 3 overs. Manisha Upadhyay took 2 wickets and Anu Kadayat took 1 wicket.

Rachana Kumari Chaudhary, who took 3 wickets, was declared ‘Player of the Match’. Nepal is placed in Group D of the ACC Women’s Under-19 Premier Cup. Nepal is scheduled to play Singapore on July 12 and Hong Kong on July 14. Both matches will start at 7:15 AM Nepali time.
