Sher Malla Takes Three Wickets, Kushal’s Century Powers Nepal to Emphatic Win

Kathmandu – Nepal defeated Malaysia by 167 runs in the Asian Games Qualifiers.

Chasing a daunting target of 276 runs, Malaysia could only manage 108/9 in their allotted overs.

For Nepal, Sher Malla starred with the ball, claiming three wickets. Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Kushal Malla, and captain Dipendra Singh Airee took one wicket each.

Earlier in the match in Singapore, Nepal, after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, posted an imposing 275/7.

Opening batter Kushal Bhurtel led the charge with a blistering 126-run innings. With the knock, he became the first Nepali cricketer to score back-to-back centuries in T20 Internationals. It was also the third T20I century of his career.

Aasif Sheikh contributed 68 runs, while captain Dipendra Singh Airee added 31 runs.

Other contributions came from Sandeep Jora (15), Lokesh Bam (10), Kushal Malla (9), Karan KC (7), and Sompal Kami (1), while Rohit Paudel was dismissed without scoring.
