Kathmandu – Three Nepali cricketers, including Sandeep Lamichhane, have been signed for the 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL).
Leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been signed by four-time champions Jaffna Kings. He was selected from the overseas players’ draft held on Monday and has been contracted for USD 20,000.
Two other Nepali players, Dipendra Singh Airee and Kushal Bhurtel, have also secured contracts in the tournament.
Dipendra, who is also the captain of the Nepal T20 national team, was picked by Jaffna Kings under the Associate Players category. Meanwhile, opening batter Kushal Bhurtel was signed by Colombo Capitals under the same category.
This marks Bhurtel’s first-ever contract in an overseas franchise league.
The 2026 Lanka Premier League will be held from July 17 to August 8, 2026, featuring competition among five teams.
