Kathmandu – The Nepal women’s cricket team will face China today in the group stage of the Asian Games women’s qualifier.
Nepal will be playing against the Chinese women’s national team for the first time in 87 months. The match between Nepal and China will begin at 11:45 AM today at the Bayuemas Oval in Malaysia.
This will be the first meeting between Nepal and China since February 2019.
China, which started the qualifiers with a victory over Indonesia on the opening day, will aim to secure another win against Nepal. For Nepal, this will be their first match of the tournament.
The Nepali women’s team will take the field against China for the third time. Nepal has won both of their previous encounters. The two sides first met in a Women’s T20 International on January 12, 2019.
In their first meeting, Nepal defeated China by 10 wickets. In their second encounter, held in February of the same year, Nepal won by 5 runs.
According to the latest ICC rankings, Nepal is placed 22nd, while China is ranked 43rd.
