Scotland Score 243 Runs, Sandeep Takes 4 Wickets

Kathmandu – Nepal have been set a target of 244 runs by Scotland in the opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Scotland scored 243 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took four wickets, while Karan KC and Nandan Yadav claimed two wickets each.

Playing at home with strong support from local fans, today’s match is considered important for Nepal to improve their position in the League 2 standings. Nepal have fielded the same playing XI that defeated Oman last Tuesday.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Paudel, Nepal’s lineup includes Binod Bhandari, Aasif Sheikh, Arjun Kumal, Dipendra Singh Airee, Aarif Sheikh, Gulshan Jha, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Lalit Rajbanshi.

Ishan Pandey will have to wait for another match to make his One Day International debut. Along with him, Sompal Kami, Bhim Sharki, and Kushal Bhurtel are also out of the playing XI.

In the League 2 standings, Scotland are in second place with 34 points from 28 matches, while Nepal are seventh with 18 points from 24 matches.
