Gulshan Jha’s Five-Wicket Haul Powers Nepal to Convincing Win Over Oman

Kathmandu – Nepal secured a commanding 81-run victory over Oman in the ICC World Cup League 2 triangular series match.

Oman were bowled out for 175 runs in 39.5 overs while chasing a target of 257 runs.

At the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal, after winning the toss, posted 256 runs all out in 49.5 overs.

Nepal had a shaky start as opener Binod Bhandari was dismissed for a duck, putting early pressure on the team. However, Aasif Sheikh and Arjun Kumal steadied the innings with a crucial partnership for the second wicket.

Aasif Sheikh played a brilliant knock of 94 runs, hitting 7 fours and 5 sixes. Arjun Kumal contributed 48 runs, while middle-order batter Dipendra Singh Airee added 33 runs.

In the death overs, Aarif Sheikh provided a quick boost with an aggressive 43 runs off just 24 balls, helping Nepal reach a competitive total.

For Oman, Nadeem Khan took 3 wickets, while Shakeel Ahmed and Hasnain Shah claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing 257, Oman were dismantled by Gulshan Jha’s outstanding five-wicket haul. Sandeep Lamichhane, Karan KC, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Nandan Yadav also picked up one wicket each as Nepal sealed a comfortable win.
