Kathmandu – The second T20 match between Nepal and the UAE is being played today at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur at 5 PM. The UAE won the first match of the series.
For the series, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has fielded a team under the captaincy of Dipendra Singh Airee. The squad includes Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Sundeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh, Basir Ahmad, Gulshan Jha, Lokesh Bam, Sandeep Lamichhane, Nandan Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Arjun Saud, Hemant Dhami, Shahab Alam, and Sher Malla. Reserve players are Pratis GC, Narayan Joshi, and Rashid Khan.
Nepal is experimenting for the first time with separate captains for T20 and One Day formats. For the first time, players like Rohit Paudel, Sompal Kami, and Karan KC are not included in the T20 squad.
After losing the first match by 6 wickets under the D/L method, Nepal now has a chance to level the two-match series today. To do so, the team will need to correct the mistakes made in the first match, particularly their poor batting performance.
