World Cup Cricket: Dipendra’s Half-Century Guides Nepal to 134-Run Target Against West Indies

Kathmandu – Nepal have set a target of 134 runs for West Indies in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match.

After losing the toss at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India, Nepal were invited to bat first. They posted 133 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted overs.

Opener Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed early for just 1 run. Aasif Sheikh scored 11 runs and tried to steady the innings but failed to convert it into a big knock. Captain Rohit Paudel was trapped lbw for 5 runs, putting Nepal under pressure.

In the middle order, Dipendra Singh Airee played a brilliant innings, scoring 58 runs off 47 balls. His knock included three fours and three sixes, helping Nepal recover from early setbacks. Lokesh Bam contributed 13 runs, while Gulshan Jha added 11. Arif Sheikh was dismissed for 2 runs.

Sompal Kami provided late momentum with an unbeaten 26 off 15 balls, hitting four boundaries to push Nepal to a competitive total. Karan KC managed just 1 run.

Having suffered two consecutive defeats in the group stage—against England and Italy—Nepal are under pressure to secure a win in this crucial match.

West Indies, a two-time T20 World Cup champion, lifted the title in 2012 and 2016, making them a formidable opponent.
